Qualifications & Requirements
What we’re looking for
- Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in the accounting industry
- Proven ability to work independently and effectively, with exceptional communication skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational abilities and high ethical standards
- Enthusiasm for what you do and the desire to help our organizations be more efficient
- Working experience with Yardi and QuickBooks Online
- Proven experience with spreadsheets
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Role Overview, Expectations and Responsibilities
As a Bookkeeper at Better Group, you will work with all aspects of the day-to-day accounting tasks and aid the accounting team. You will thrive in a fast-paced work environment with the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. You are a highly detail-oriented individual who is not afraid to dig deeper or further analyze what you are given to ensure accuracy and protect the financial health of the entities you manage.
Responsibilities
- Manage the local accounting email inbox for Better Group Inc. and share information with various individuals within the organization
- Correctly bill clients for goods or services
- Work with other departments to verify and record transactions and resolve account discrepancies
- Collect the correct amounts from customers on time by providing the necessary support throughout the collection processes.
- Help reconcile bank and credit card transactions to statements
- Deposit funds into respective bank accounts on a weekly basis or as needed
- Solve accounting puzzles by researching and reconciling discrepancies, and ensure that the accounting records are in good order
- Assist clients in understanding financial policies and procedures
- Provide recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Compensation & What you can expect
- $50,000 – $60,000
- Excellent benefits package, including pension plan
- 3 weeks’ vacation plus Christmas shutdown
